Hyperrealism Ron Mueck

One of my favorites artist, Ron Mueck. I was just amaze about his work when I saw it for the first time, how can be so real? I've been always interested in 3D making and the human face and body, no matter what material; ceramics, plasticine, cardboard, paper... I really enjoy to see this kind of things. So I took a few books about Mueck to see what is behind these huge bodies, its process. You can appreciate in his works every little detail, that what makes his work perfect.

Yayoi Kusama at Tate Modern

I went today to the exhibition of Yayoi Kusama in Tate Modern. There you can see how her works evolve, from many small paintings about the ocean and deep things, to collages, sculptures, installations, videos, posters... I really enjoyed looking through her works I could see the effort she put in her works, the consistence in it.

Museum of Brands and Packaging

I went today to the Museum of Brands and Packaging. It was really interesting how things have changed in this years. From the materials used, typography style, colours... I really enjoyed my visit there, because I like to see old designs even if all look the same. I was surprise by how brands like A Craven were saying in posters "Will not affect your throat"

How to be an explorer of the world

Looking for graphic design books in LCC library I found this one for casuality. How to be an explorer of the world is the title of this book by Keri Smith.

"We shall not cease from exploration and at the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." T.S. Eliot, The four quartets

Stefan Sagmeister

"You can have an art experience in front of a Rembrandt... or in front of a piece of graphic design." Stefan Sagmeister
After see Stefan Sagmeister works you won't be able to say graphic design is boring. As he said many times... "Design has to work, art does not" (Donald Judd) that's the only different between art and graphic design. Taking this as a principle, there are no limits in this subject as long as it makes its function, communicate an idea.
